Commercial Screen Printing

Screen printing, also known as silkscreening or serigraphy, is a printmaking technique primarily known for its ability to create sharp-edged single color images with the use of a stencil and porous fabric. The process first began as an industrial technology method, which was later innovated and popularized as one of the most efficient color printing method. It is now used in fine arts and small-scale commercial printing processes done on a wide variety of substrates such as shirts, hats, paper, metals, wood, paperboard, plastic and other types of clothing and fabric materials.

The process is perhaps one of the most versatile printing processes known, for it can produce posters, labels, decals, signage and other types of print items regardless of varying shape, thickness and size. All done through the commercial screen printing method.

Commercial screen printing is very popular with print buyers like you since, the method enables them to create interesting effects in their printed items. It is because screen printing allows a certain thickness of ink to be applied directly on the substrate, which cannot be performed with other printing techniques particularly those that use printing machines since the inks are already calibrated and regulated according to application. Because of this, the screen printing process enables the application of a wider range of ink colors to print items.

And fueled by the development of screen printing presses, rotary screen printing press, dryers and even curable inks, the old style of doing print items with the use of a screen and squeegee or sometimes a brush has been innovated and production rates improved impressively.

Nowadays, the commercial screen printing process is used for other printed items such as magazines, art prints, forms, calendars, cards, catalogs, books and periodicals, fabric covers, maps, sheets, posters and postcards and a whole lot more. Indeed, its versatility in terms of reproducing printed materials is far famed in the print industry, and embraced by the print buyers in general.
